Tearing Down Walls To Build New Ones

- Meeting in the camp mess hall -
After our summer filled with Bible camps there was one more camp on the schedule; Destruction Camp. Our old mess hall has served valiantly for over 40 years. The plastic roof had shown wear and tear for 10 years now, so plans, prayers, and meetings were held to figure out what would replace it. After a long request, design, and approval process we received our building permit, and the contractor agreed to put us in their schedule for the near future. That meant it was time to tear down the old building.
The evolution of a mess hall:

- The mess hall in 1970 -

- New windows and doors in 1978 -

- The mess hall still stood in 2011 -

- Now it no longer stands -
Here is some proof of the destruction in technicolor:
This is what it will look like by next summer:

Just to be clear. I can't take any credit for this happening. I have enjoyed being able to help out here and there but the blood sweat and tears have been shed by Paul Brazle, Chris Morias, and Scott Raab to get the ball rolling, communicating with the architect, city, and province to get all of the paperwork in the right place.
Lord, our prayer is that this new building provides a place for retreat, quiet, learning, sharing, and worship. Please guide our steps in this endeavor as you have before.
